Inspired By: Last But Certainly Not Least

Sorry I totally forgot to write this last post. But, hey, I'm here now, and that's gotta be worth something, right?

It's time to get to the point, shall we? As I've said before, all good things must come to an end. Lizzie McGuire did, so that's Exhibit A. Also, though, Mandy will live on in our hearts forever, so don't worry at all.

Here's just a little tidbit about the below white jeans. These babies fit like a glove and should be worn all year round, because well, they rock and feel like butter. Unfortunately, there are Labor Day rules against that. Labor Day ain't got nothing on me and my white jeans; I wore them out the other night with a white shirt. So, Labor Day, sue me.

Ever hear that inspirational quote about it not being goodbye but instead see you later? Let's embrace that because although #Mandyreadyforwork is over, it is only temporary. Mandy will (hopefully) get other internships, and then she will Insta the day away.

Fun fact: the below heels are from my senior prom. So, that's fun. Unfortunately, said heels are extremely uncomfortable, so my day ended with some navy blue penny loafers.

Real random side note: is it bad that those naked pics of Miley don't phase me even a little bit? Instead, I'm too jealous of her bod. Ugh, Miley is the movement.

Until next time, pretty birds.

Inspired By: Biker Chic (Kinda)

Today is like really fucking hot out. Someone please hook me up with some 100 SPF sunscreen ASAP. I'm melting and crying and burning to a pale crisp.  That's the problem with being pale: you don't tan, you just burn.  Sometimes I appear tan, but that's only because my freckles begin to attach. It's all a mirage.

So, this next statement might be really sad for you. Today is the second to last #Mandyreadyforwork post. All good things come to an end, remember? But, Mandy will live on forever.  She's still always ready, now it's just to twerk (cue Facebook pro pic). Kidding, I don't twerk.  I mean, I've tried, but ya.

Anyway, since everything I'm saying is irrelevant, makes no sense and is weird, probably because I'm suffering from heat stroke...

This outfit below is totally biker chic, kinda. I'm not actually wearing leather or combat boots or anything edgy, but it's my take on it.  Cue kickass leather booties and a jean jacket.

Wish me luck with my abroad appointments today! Hashtag help me.

Inspired By: Body Con Stripes

Today marks the second installment of The 8 a.m. Chronicles, aka #8amchronicles. We're really off to a promising start, I mean, double digit insta-likes.

Stay tuned every Monday and Wednesday for my sad face and coffee in hand.

On another note: check out my body con striped sailor dress! Basically on this day I was feeling pretty on top of my game. I only had three days left to my internship, and I really decided it would make most sense to go out with an outfit bang. Hence the maxi body con, duh. I also had it in me to wear heels.

Picture this: Mandy strutting through the city with cool new blue mirror aviator sunglasses and this outfit. Cool, right? Yeah, strutting is where I ran into a problem. Strutting led to tripping, and tripping led to Mandy looking like a dumbass and ruining the cool, chic mirage that was so apparent.

On anotherrrrrr note: Wrecking Ball is an amazeballs song, so you go again, Miley Bird.  HOWEVER, I'm seriously concerned for your wellbeing. PLEASE stop being naked. Like, yes, your bod is bangin and we're all jealous, like I'd do anything for your abs, even give up pretzels. But why are you having sex with a wrecking ball and licking things? Guess you can't stop, won't stop.

Inspired By: The Final Four

A happy birthday to the queen once again, only this time the queen is my mom, not Beyonce. So, happy birthday to the coolest and best chick on the planet, and my best friend. Hashtag Meryl.

Today marks the first of the final four #Mandyreadyforwork posts. I am SO sorry, I know you love them. But, all good things must come to an end.  My internship did, and these outfit pictures and a few therapy sessions are all I have left. Personally, I think the final four outfits were the best of the summer, so that's great, right?

On a completely unrelated note, as always, I'm so disorganized and need to find some motivation. I really need that box of planners to arrive at my house so I can begin pencilling in all my assignments and appointments. I'm like so not on my game right now. I need some clarity, ya feel me, Zedd?

Why do I have so much homework? I mean, it's seriously putting a damper on my day. All I wanna do is frolick on the row in my Free People skirt.

Until tomorrow, pretty birds...

Inspired By: All Blue Everything

Shana tova and a happy birthday to the queen, Beyonce that is.

Another productive day for this girl. I woke up at 7:05 a.m., fired up my keurig, made some caramel vanilla coffee, survived my first college 8 a.m., went to Spanish class, came home, went for a run, did some abs and arms, ate some eggs, took a shower, cried over how expensive my books for school are, took a nap and now I'm here. Extensive, I know.

This whole classes thing- not really working out for me. This whole 8 a.m. class thing- not really ever gonna work out for me.  But, on the plus side, I'm introducing another instafamous hashtag: #8amchronicles, which will consist of heinous morning selfies of my friend Sam and I on our way to class as walking zombies.

Below, as you can see, I was feeling very blue on this day.  Not actually sad, don't worry, just felt like pairing together every blue article of clothing I could find. Cue the chambray shirt, patterned skirt and navy Superga sneakers. Just had me singing, "I'm blue da ba dee da ba die, if I was green I would die," ya know?

I could really go for some apples and honey right about now. #Mandyreadyforwork.

Inspired By: Army Pants and Flip Flops

I'm bored. I was a little too productive today, before noon I might add, so I got nervous.  Having early classes sucks for the most part, OK the whole part, but you also just have so much time for activities throughout the rest of the day. (Besides my Mondays- 8 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. with no break, but like, who's keeping track, right?)

I got up, went to class in my workout gear, learned about plants, went to my Spanish advisor, paid a visit to the study abroad office, did some Bar Method in my cubicle of a bedroom and now I'm here.

The below work outfit was inspired by Cady Heron. She wore army pants and flip flops, so I did too. Kidding! These aren't army pants! They're cool slouchy boyfriend cargos; there's a real difference.  And those are for sure not flip flops, but instead my Zara staple shoes, duh.

Any ideas for what I should do with the rest of my day?

Inspired By: Romper Part II

HAAAAAY there. I feel like I'm always apologizing for being absent, but, like, you can't complain since I've been more present than ever on my blog this summer.  Just getting situated into school and shit, yano?

I return with more romper wisdom and some wine in my cup.  Blush wine to be exact.  Anyway, I'm back, bitches.

This romper is like super cool because it fools everyone. Like, don't you think I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath my tank romper? First of all, ew, why would I do that? But secondly, fooled ya!

Sidenote on the brogues: some lady stopped me to ask me what designer my oxfords were, as in she thought they were some fancy Christian Louboutin shoes. The look of awe on her face when I informed her I bought them at Urban Outfitters was quite satisfying. Bargain hunting faaa lyfe!

So, I'm back at school, my favorite place in the world, but classes start tomorrow. Wakeup call at 8:30, wanna join me for a cup of coffee from my keurig? If so, hmu.

Romper: I don't know because the tag is in illegible cursive handwriting, Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Inspired By: Mixing Prints Part II

I'm really looking forward to Miley's sky high spiked hair tonight at the VMAs! Wait, no I'm not. Because I miss the Hannah Montana Miley and those precious locks. Ugh ugh ugh. Not gonna lie, because I trust you guys, I cried when she cut off her bun.

Sidenote: I'm having a hard time finding wifi in my house at the moment, so I thought I'd share with you my location.  I am currently blogging in the dark at the top of my staircase. Talk about mood lighting.

Anywho, say shalom to mixing prints part deux! This outfit comes straight from my pre-internship Zara shopping spree. Looks like a dress, acts like a dress, but is really a shirt and skirt. I fooled you, right?

Well, I'm off to a surprise party, but I missed the surprise part. Oh well, just in time for food! Eat, blog, bar- remember?

Inspired By: The Tuck

Ever think about the word tuck? It's just a word I love. I love to tuck in my shirts, effortlessly, well seemingly effortlessly to you, or with much effort.  And by effortlessly I mean the "half in half out" tuck, as pictured below. I also love to tuck my little hips- at the Bar Method, of course! Jeez, you people are so scandalous.

Below is my signature tuck. I always find myself tucking in my shirts, I think it's real trendy.  But sometimes the full tuck is just too much, ya know? Sometimes the little stretch of the pants and toss the shirt in tuck is all you need.

My other favorite tuck? The "tuck your hips to the right, to the left, right left tuck tuck." Fuck, I love Bar Method too much.

Inspired By: Polka Dot Romper

Miss me? Ugh, sorry, I miss you too! I've been busy living at the Bar Method and answering five questions correctly on Jeopardy.  Genius? I think yes.

So, Kim and Kanye's baby is cute, right?

See this romper below? Well, this is my special romper. He's been with me through thick and thin, just like my stuffed platypus Timothy.  Whenever I am dazed and confused at what seems to be the nothingness that fills my closet, although I stare into a sea of unworn clothing, this romper saves the day.  He's just easy, ya know? Not in a slutty way, though.

Ever think about rompers? I mean, like, really think about their role in society? They are just the easiest thing to throw on because they are shorts and a shirt combined! To quote my favorite Chelsea Lately roundtable punnyman Ross Matthews, that shit is bonkers cray cray.

Inspired By: Apples and iPhones

I finally did it! Finally did what, Pretty Bird? Is probably what you're asking yourself at this very moment.  And to that I respond with, I finally got myself an iPhone 5. It was about time. I mean, a girl could only endure a water damaged phone for so long, ya feel me?

Now I'm really overwhelmed with my cover options. Like, I thought I wouldn't have to deal with this ever again after finding the most wonderfully texturally pleasing Belkin case to ever live.  But now, to my dismay, the case comes in many more colors. So that's where I'm stuck. Purple with turquoise again? Perhaps purple on purple? Eek.

Now Mandy is ready for work with her iPhone 5. Call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me.

Sidenote: I really wish iPhones could go caseless. Tell me that shit isn't sleek. Am I right, apple lovers?

Sorry for repeating these shorts. I swore I wouldn't repeat an outfit all summer.

Inspired By: Public Transportation

Don't let the title of this post deceive you.  I'd like to take a moment to shit talk public transportation. I mean, it just really sucks.  How is this relevant, you ask? Because on this very day I wore this outfit, I arrived at work panting and sweating and panicking. My bus stopped in the middle of the road, randomly, and I arrived to my destination 20 minutes later than scheduled, causing me to be 15 minutes late for work.

If you happened to see a chick sprinting through the New York City streets at around 9:00 a.m., that bitch was me.

Anyway, public transportation can suck it as far as I'm concerned. The amount of people that have fallen asleep on me on the bus this summer is too many to count. They were strangers, by the way. One time a man sneezed on my foot. Another time my bus driver was driving the wrong route.

On that day, Mandy wasn't ready for work, she was rushing there.

Inspired By: Black and White

Today I had a revelation. I never want to go to prison. Why? Because Piper makes it look scary and I wouldn't last one whole day in there.

Orange is the New Black has been my newest obsession and time filler since New Girl.  I must say I'm a little sad that the show has a more serious nature.  Nevertheless, I'm still entertained.  Unfortunately for me, I'm on my last episode. Ugh, seriously what to do now?

Another unfortunately for me, my Netflix decided it would be funny to begin the season on episode nine. So, needless to say, I was beyond confused and had little idea about anything going on.  Like any dedicated television-viewer, I started over. Yay Netflix.

Eat Netflix, blog, bar. Kidding! I may be gluten free, but dried apricots aren't going to eat themselves. am I right, ladies dried fruit lovers?

Notice how every single day my posts become less and less about the outfit pictured below? #mandyreadyforwork

Inspired By: Floral Dress

I'm sure my next statement will surprise all of you, since you know me, and all I do is talk talk talk talk talk.  But like, I really just have nothing to say aside from the fact that I'm really confused about what new show to watch.

I began and completed New Girl in basically a day, OK- so it took 20 episodes yesterday and four episodes today, but doesn't it sound cooler to finish a show in only a day?

Aside from that, a friend of mine says I remind her of Jess from New Girl.  Like yes, I know I'm hilarious.  But also like, thanks? Am I crazy? I know a sing a lot, but I wouldn't sing my feelings in such a manner, especially to a man.  Nor do I tap dance.

Remember when I said I had nothing to say? There goes that.

Inspired By: Mixing Prints

At school, one of my best friends and I have a joke about mixing prints. One time I tried to combine two prints that I could barely even get away with for a WTF themed social.  From there, we went on to encourage all others to mix prints all day every day. If "what should I wear tonight?" was the question, "I don't know but you betta be mixing prints," was always the answer.

On this day, I did just that. A little checkerboard chick, a little floral chick. And, voile! There you have it, mixing prints and shit like it's 1969. I'm not sure what I even meant by that...so, I guess, YOLO.

Hey Emily, are you mixing prints today?

Inspired By: Orange Polka Dots

Great news for anyone invested in my life and wondering about how I sleep at night. In that case, I sleep like a baby- most nights. For the other nights, well, that's what dream catchers are for. Am I right, ladies?

Moving on, or rather getting to the point. I've slept in the same bed since I was like five years old. It's gotten me through many a time, the good, the bad and the ugly.  Sounds great, right? The only problem is that it's a twin-size bed. Laugh all you want, but it was the complete princess bed.

Why is this relevant? Because I am pleased to announce that I now have a full size big girl bed. That's right, people. I can sleep diagonally very comfortably without my feet hanging off the bottom.

Who's excited?

Tootles!

Inspired By: Floral Blazer

Today was a bad day. I'm tired and hungry and tweeted too much. But hey, at least Drew can now find the man of his dreams since Des let him go.

Upon Instagramming this picture, a friend of mine commented, urging that I share with her whether or not my hair was in a top knot.  Stefanie, it was not. Sorry to ruin the mirage for you.

Anyway, time for me to go eat my salmon for dinner. Yay healthy living. Yay floral blazers!

Inspired By: Orange Pants

Haaaaay. So, like, just wanted to introduce you to my cool orange pants. They seem to say, "hey, I can be real professional, but I'm also pretty fucking cool." It's like a classy and cool combo, ya dig?

In other news, a strange boy fell asleep on me on the bus today, and another man sneezed on my foot. So, that's my life recently. Gotta love public transportation!

In other other news, my internship is over in one week from today, so I can finally spend my days at the Bar Method Englewood all day every day. (Shameless plug).

I have lots of outfit posts to catch up on...so...until tomorrow, pretty birds!

Inspired By: Pastels and Spikes

On this day it rained, so I thought it only appropriate to whip out the jeans I was originally told were forbidden in the work environment. Naturally, I opted for a pastel hue to rock with some spikes on my collar.

This way, my shirt doubles as a trendy staple piece as well as a weapon.

On an unrelated note, today I sprayed deodorant in my hair with the common misconception of it being dry shampoo. Ya win some, ya lose some, am I right? In this case, my hair lost some, and it smelled of armpits. Clean ones, people, relax.

Inspired By: Paisley and Shorts

When I first started my internship, I was told absolutely no shorts. But then I was also told to base my attire off of the rest of my department, specifically my supervisors. My supervisor loves to wear shorts.  Therefore, I now love to wear shorts. Every. Single. Day. Almost.

Upon arriving at work, a very cute, feminine man told me I looked adorable in this outfit. So, like, score one for Mandy. Paisley print for the win.
